The Slikken: Our own Dutch savannah!

Just a stone's throw from B&B Catharinenburg lies the beautiful Slikken van Melissant, a unique nature reserve that is reminiscent of a real savannah. Here, fjord horses and special cattle graze among the vast grasslands, while thousands of barnacle geese migrate. As the icing on the cake, the majestic sea eagles soar above the area, and with a bit of luck you will also spot a group of deer among the bushes.
